EMERGENCY SERVICES

TEKOA & WHITMAN COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT

Tekoa & Whitman County Fire Department is a very important part of our emergency services, and our fire department and firefighters are a vital part of our community, strictly volunteer, and constantly putting their lives on the line to protect our citizens and community. They are a wonderful group. At the present time we have 18 volunteer firefighters.

DIAL 911 FOR EMERGENCY

TEKOA AMBULANCE SERVICE    DIAL 911

The Tekoa Ambulance is a service that different volunteers in our community provide, and is strictly non profit. They are trained EMT's, and  are an excellent group of people. We feel so fortunate to have this service in our town, and have these qualified individuals taking care of us.

WHITMAN COUNTY SHERIFF
DEPUTY BOGENREIF

In early 2004, due to a lack of revenue, Tekoa Police Department closed its doors, and contracted with Whitman County Sheriff Department for Law Enforcement Services. The City of Tekoa is very pleased with the service the county provides. The officers are visible and out there, and provide over 40 hours per week protection. They also are available to us when we have special events in town that warrant additional officers. It has been a very wise decision.
