SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
For August 2, 2010

I.  CALL TO ORDER: Mayor John Jaeger called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.  Council members present at
the meeting were Jaeger, Mike Bogenreif, John Giudice, Debbie Groom, Roy Schulz, Eileen Soldwedel, and Dave
Tysz. Also present were Clerk/Treasurer, Kynda Browning; and Maintenance Supervisor, Duane Groom. In
attendance in the audience were Carl and Janis Fisher and Chuck LaPrath.

II.  PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Jaeger asked those present to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance.

III.  PUBLIC HEARING FOR 2011 STREET LEVY: Mayor Jaeger opened the public hearing for the 2011
street levy and said he is proposing that we ask for $50,000 for the 2011 street levy.  He went over the street budget
and discussed the fact that the only state money we get for the streets is the backfill money.  Because of the decrease
in state revenues, we can’t be sure we will receive backfill money in 2011.

~Eileen Soldwedel said that she would like to reduce the levy amount to make it easier for people to pay because of
the economy.

~Janis Fisher said we have been decreasing the amount of money we have been putting towards roads, and they are
in disrepair.  They live on a dirt road, and it has not been improved.  She said we should not cut back on the amount
of money we spend on roads.

~Mike Bogenreif said he agrees.  He said if you drive around town, there are potholes everywhere.  He would like to
ask for the $50,000.

~Janis Fisher said there needs to be a comprehensive plan so we start taking care of the roads.

There was additional discussion about gravel roads and chip sealing.

Roy Schulz made a motion to approve Street Levy Resolution No. 10-05 asking for $50,000 for streets.  Dave Tysz seconded the motion; all council members voted yes.

IV.  ADJOURNMENT: Mike Bogenreif made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:40 p.m. Debbie Groom
seconded the motion; all council members voted yes.
